Foam tape PE is a quality, yet economical, polyethylene foam insulation tape that prevents condensation and sweating on refrigeration and air conditioning lines. It also can be used to prevent heat loss on steam and hot water lines. Foam tape PE uses closed cell construction to provide effective insulation performance and its adhesive incorporates a built-in skrim for strength. It can be overlapped or the edges can be butted as it's wrapped on piping. The amount of tape required depends on factors like relative humidity, ambient temperature and the temperature of the pipe to be covered. Service temperatures range from -20 deg F to a high continuous temperature of 160 deg F.
